The first title in a vibrant Jamaican children’s series, Magnus the Mongoose Meets New Friends is set around the Sunny Square School and supports this year’s theme by encouraging communication with adults and the importance of stranger safety. Magnus the Mongoose has received strong local and international attention, including the choice for Literacy Week in 2015, features on local television and recognition from Caricom and the international children’s media publication, Kidscreen.

Every child deserves a story they can see themselves in. This Child's Month, help us place Magnus the Mongoose into the hands of young readers at the first 'likkle’ school you attended. Magnus the Mongoose Meets New Friends introduces young readers aged 3 to 6 to literacy, numeracy & Jamaican expressions, through fun adventures with Magnus and the SMARTs. Written in English and punctuated with Jamaican patois, the book encourages language discovery in a Caribbean setting. It has been praised by noted early childhood education authority, the late Dr. Rose Davies as “ … a positive addition to children’s literature for the Caribbean.”
